Boys & Girls Clubs Festival of Trees Raises Funds for Local Families this Holiday Season

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield kicked off the holiday season with its annual Festival of
Trees on Sunday, November 20th at MarketStreet Lynnfield during its Holiday Stroll. The annual holiday
event raised over $20,000 in funds to support local families in need during the holiday season.

Thousands of locals attended the Festival of Trees, which displayed a wide array of festively decorated
trees from over 70 local businesses, non-profit and civic groups, as well as local families and other
community members who donated trees. Attendees were invited to purchase raffle tickets to enter to
win trees on display which were raffled off at the end of the event.

“We want to thank MarketStreet Lynnfield for hosting our event for the second year in a row, which
provided the perfect backdrop for our Festival and gave our Clubs additional exposure to surrounding
communities. We are also so grateful to all the groups who donated trees and to those who supported
the event by attending and purchasing tickets. The outpouring of support for our mission to support
families this holiday was deeply appreciated,” says Katie Cafferty, Development Associate for the Boys &
Girls Clubs.

Families also had an opportunity to meet with Santa and enjoy free hot chocolate and cider provided by
La Gallina restaurant. In addition to the winter wonderland on display at the Festival, the Holiday Stroll
provided visitors to MarketStreet with amazing shopping opportunities, holiday food sampling,
interactive holiday decor, live entertainment, and a ceremonial tree lighting led by Mr. Claus.

“We are overjoyed by all of the hard work put forth by the incredible team at the Boys & Girls Clubs and
are so grateful for the generosity of our community in making sure every child has a happy holiday
season,” says Charlotte Woods, General Manager at MarketStreet Lynnfield.

“The magic of the Festival of Trees is that it is so much more than a one- day event celebrating the start
of the holidays. It continues all season long by allowing us to raise funds to ensure that every family in
need in our community experiences the holiday they deserve, whether it’s through meals or gift
support. We can’t thank all our community partners enough for supporting this event and helping our
Clubs to spread holiday cheer to those in need,” says Megan Samborski, Director of Community
Relations for the Boys & Girls Clubs.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield would like to extend a special thank you to everyone
who took the time to decorate and donate a tree to this event and helped to make some families’
holiday season special. The event raised over $20,000 which will be used to help local families through
meal support, gift support, and much more.
